Before we have snow this year, with all the momiji still on the trees
we got a very very VERY cold spell.

tomorrow might be even colder.
Almost typhoon-like blizzards in Hokkaido.
the same temperatures on November 14.

Early cold spell lasted till November 18.
Most of America was in heavy snow for many days.

Heavy snow has paralyzed traffic in western Japan.
Road management officials say traffic on outbound lanes of the Shin-Meishin Expressway was backed up for 4 kilometers in Shiga Prefecture from Thursday evening through early Friday.
Rescue workers say 7 people confined in cars complained of feeling ill and were brought to hospital.
Workers removed snow and by 3 AM the situation improved.
But the expressway remains blocked between a junction in Shiga Prefecture and another in Mie Prefecture.
On the Meihan Highway, connecting Mie and Nara prefectures, about a 100 cars were stranded at one time on Thursday night.
On a dangerous 3-kilometer stretch of road in Kameyama City in Mie Prefecture many cars lost control and skidded.
Conditions are improving. Road authorities shut down the road and removed snow
