58年ぶりに12月の雪!
A sunny spell, but more than 30 cm of snow still in the garden.
Snow on Nagoya Castle, the last time that happened in December was 58 years ago.

Ah! Gabi,
So cruel of you to take pics of the poor guardian dogs, when in fact you should have been rescuing them. :)

Kamesh

Happy Holidays, Gabi sensei and Haiku-kun!
and not to forget the mama cat, too.
Evolving discussion:
this is lovely but wouldn't we say the guard dog in English?
S.
I think we would normally say guard dog in English, but "guardian dog" is an arresting phrase and seems--to me, at least--to work here.
B.
Guardian dog is an Asian term and Gabi san lives in Japan. Poetry should not have to conform to the
colloquial schemata of English speaking poets.
A beautifully written poem, Gabi san!

The references you gave us that I looked at for guardian dogs were all made of stone.
I am wondering how they could shout.
V.
via imagination or the use of one as a metaphor ... ah, poetry

ooo ooo ooo
And then Gabi:
one of the dogs/lions/Nio-O has his mouth open, alpha, the beginning
the other has his mouth shut, omega, the end
Here is still more about that mystery

もう今朝は雪の下かな?
大雪のお見舞い申し上げます。

東京もものすごい風です。
植木鉢ゴミ箱が飛び回っています。
近くの歯医者に行くのも風でやっとです。
日本海側は大変だと思います。
